1. There is at least one open slot in the fuse box, in most cases there are two. Find one of them to use for your fuel pump fuse (40A). Now is a good time to remove the negative lead from the battery, no shit right?
2. Remove the retaining bolts for the fuse box and open it up by prying the clips on the side.
3. Remove the white terminal retaining plate that snaps into the fuse box with a pair of pliers as shown.
4. There are two spots for terminals to snap into each fuse slot. One is already taken, push the red wire with terminal into the second slot that is open. It will snap into place. Replace the white terminal retaining plate.
5. Clip the fuse box back together and replace the retaining bolts that you removed earlier. You should now have two terminals visible in the empty fuse slot as shown.
6. Insert the 40A fuel pump fuse into the empty fuse slot and label your fuse box cover with FP for future reference. (FP is for Fuel Pump in this case, we're not trying to get you to write our initials on your car)
7. Find an appropriate spot on the firewall to mount the 40A fuel pump relay as shown. There is enough wire length to give you some flexibility here.
8. Find the fuel pump check connector on the fire wall. For a 1G the wire color is black with a white stripe, for 2G the wire color is black with a blue stripe. Using this signal to activate your fuel pump is the best and safest method.
9. With the purple wire plugged into the blue fuel pump check connector, underhood installation is complete.
There is ample length of wire to get you back to the fuel pump and connect to the terminal on the top of the fuel pump bracket/sending unit.
